ALL CLASSES CURRENTLY ON PAUSE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
My philosophy is that fitness should be fun and accessible to everyone. If you are deconditioned, an active senior, have undergone a knee or hip replacement, or are just looking for a low-impact activity to add to your fitness regime, my classes are for you. While all classes have been adapted to put less stress on your joints and accommodate limited ranges of motion, this is not rehab or physio, this is FUN.
Each class will take you through a warm up, work out, cool down, and stretch. The work out segment uses varying music tempos to vary the intensity and the playlist mixes international rhythms and pop music, so it’s more a dance party than exercise. It is important to remember that these are fitness classes, not dance classes; no dance experience or ability is required.
Where: Inside Innovate Dance Arts studio in Parksville (115 – 425 Stanford Ave)
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday’s class is traditional Zumba Gold® dance fitness class with an international playlist.
Thursday’s class is Zumba Gold® with a concentration on core, balance, and range of motion. Playlist focuses on tango, flamenco, and belly dance rhythms.
Housekeeping: Prior to attending your first class, LocoMotion Fitness needs you to print and sign the Waiver of Liability, indicating you understand there are risks associated with any physical activity, and complete the PAR-Q questionnaire, indicating you are healthy enough to participate. The PAR-Q can be printed and completed or there is a link to do it online. If you do the PAR-Q online, you only need to print and bring the “confirmation” page.
